The wide receiver position isn’t as deep as it was in last year’s draft, but there is some talent coming out this year. Nelson Agholor is one of the most talented wide receivers coming out for this year’s draft. Will he be worth drafting for your dynasty team during the rookie draft? I will give you my take on Agholor, along with where he should be drafted in rookie drafts.Nelson Agholor is 6’0 185 lbs.and is a speedy receiver, who is a great punt return specialist. Agholor is fast and has the ability to take the top off the defense. He is a good route runner and he has good hands to along with his route running skills. Algholor is thin and will need to gain some size and strength to be able to beat the jam at the line of scrimmage. Also, he will need the added size to box out defenders in the end zone. Agholor had a very productive junior season, catching 104 passes for 1,313 yards and 12TDs. He finished his career at USC with 178 receptions for 2,572 yards and 20 TDs.

Agholor didn’t impress me when I was watching his tape. I think he’s a good player, but I don’t feel he’s good enough to be a major difference maker for fantasy. Unless he goes to a juicy situation like New Orleans or New England, he’s not going to be good enough to be a difference maker for your fantasy team. I have him projected as a late 1st round rookie pick, and I feel he will not be worth the investment.

He will be a better NFL receiver than a fantasy football receiver. I think he will have trouble developing because he will have trouble beating press coverage. There are a lot of receivers who are on the thin side that are successful, like T.Y. Hilton, but the odds are not in his favor that he becomes fantasy relevant. For a wide receiver as thin as he is, he would need to be connected to a stud QB for him to have fantasy value. I see him going anywhere from 1.8 to 2.5 in rookie drafts, and I don’t think he’s worth drafting in the first round. I feel that there are safer options in the back half of the first round that you could go with.
