New England Patriots wide-receiver Julian Edelman was spotted wearing a very unsavory shirt today.
Controversy is once again the hot-button topic in New England these days. Instead of focusing and salivating on what should be a spectacular Super Bowl XLIX matchup between the Patriots and the defending champion Seattle Seahawks, the world is in a buzz about “Deflate-Gate.”
Yet again, Bill Belichick and Tom Brady are in the middle of a cheating controversy. This time it comes at the very worst of times: during the Super Bowl.
We all know how Belichick operates. His offices at Gillette Stadium are run tighter than the secret service surrounding President Barack Obama. To get any information out of the Patriots camp you need James Bond himself on the mission.
His mantra seems to be trust nobody, and provide absolutely nothing.
Patriots wide-receiver Julian Edelman is apparently now a student of this philosophy.
During an interview which was shown on a New England affiliate of NBC, Edelman sported Tupac shirt that read “Trust Nobody.” For good measure 2Pac is flipping not one bird, but both.
Not only has Edelman fully taken on the Belichick mantra, but he also gave us a little insight into how he feels about his quarterback.
Via CSNNE:
“Tom Brady is Tom Brady,” Edelman said. “He was a sixth-round draft pick. A lot of people passed up on him. He’s a Super Bowl Champion, Super Bowl MVP. He’s been in a bunch of Super Bowls and he could care less about all of that. He just cares about winning the next game.”
“That’s our leader and that’s why you have a guy like that leading us. He’s an unbelievable person and I truly love that man. I do. It’s great to have him a part of this team.”
A bit of a man crush is blossoming in Foxborough. After all, Edelman is a former collegiate quarterback at Kent State. If you can’t be one, love one.
For all the love Edelman is throwing Brady’s way, it’s the exact opposite feeling the Indianapolis Colts are feeling towards the Pats organization. They, along with everybody else, continues to wait for the NFL’s findings as it relates to “Deflate-Gate.”
Regardless of the findings though, Edelman and the Patriots will be playing the Seahawks in Arizona in two-weeks.
Edelman put up 98-yards on nine-catches in the AFC Championship Game. If he can find that kind of success against the currently banged up Legion of Boom on February 1st, it’ll do wonders for New England to capture their first championship since 2004.
