Justin Bieber learned over New Year’s that you can’t always get what you want when he ran into “an old guy throwing back drinks” at a beach bar on the Parrot Cay Island. The man, who was reported to have said to him, “Who the f— are you?”, was none other than the shambling body of rock legend Keith Richards.

Bieber, apparently unaware that the guitarist of the Rolling Stones was addressing him, responded with, “I don’t know. Who the f– are you?” US Magazine says:

"Apparently satisfied with that answer, the older gent smiled and said, “‘You’re a man. I respect that,’ then walked away,” the source tells Us It wasn’t until a few minutes later, when “another old guy and came over and told Justin, ‘Keith Richards wants to have a drink with you,'” that the 71-year-old rock legend’s identity was revealed.Bieber, rightly awestruck, exclaimed, “Oh, shit! That was Keith Richards?” and then joined the Brit at a table.“Justin tried to bro down with him,” a witness says, adding that a seemingly unimpressed Richards told the star, “Let’s get one thing straight. You’re a wannabe.”"

Another source said that the two had a long talk, where we imagine Richards continued to call Bieber names along the same vein. Knowing Richards, he might even have had a few sagely words of advice to pass along to Canadian pop star. Like maybe he shouldn’t take the $2 million to do gay porn, or how to avoid being investigated for attempted robbery.

Hopefully, he wasn’t too cold on Bieber.
