The headlines for Super Bowl XLIX are coming in hot, and I’m sure New England and Seattle will give us more as the game gets closer.

Super Bowl XLIX: New England Patriots against Seattle Seahawks.

For all the drama and excitement the NFL playoffs create, the world will get a Super Bowl between the two top seeds for the second straight year (first time that’s happened since 1983-84).

Championship Sunday kicked off in Seattle with the Seahawks defeating the Green Bay Packers 28-22 in overtime.

The Packers were up 16-0 at one point and led 19-7 with four minutes to go, but a series of fortunate events for Seattle came in when they needed them the most and Russell Wilson threw the walk-off touchdown pass in overtime to cap off one of the most exciting playoff games ever.

The evening game was, well, it wasn’t a good encore to the earlier performance.

Indianapolis came into Foxborough riding high, but the Patriots spanked the Colts 45-7.

The game was pretty much the same thing we have seen in this rivalry for the past few years, and it was the second straight season in which the Colts were sent home by the Patriots.

But those games are history now, and it’s now time to look ahead to February 1st where Super Bowl XLIX will be played in Glendale, Arizona.

We still have a lot of time before the big game gets here, but these are the early headlines between the Patriots and Seahawks.
