Houston Rockets superstar James Harden doesn’t think the Golden State Warriors are that good of a basketball team.

James Harden is one of the best basketball players on the planet, and he is without a doubt one of the top candidates to win the Most Valuable Player of the Year award in the NBA this season. The Houston Rockets are currently sitting at 29-13 on the season, and appear to be legitimate contenders in the Western Conference.

More from Golden State Warriors

Golden State is another legitimate contender in the West, and Harden made it clear that he doesn’t think they are as good as their 33-6 record implies.

Prior to their game against each other on January 17th, Harden said that they “weren’t that good” in a pregame huddle. Unfortunately for Harden, his team ended up losing that game by a final score of 131-106.

What makes those comments even more intriguing? The Rockets and Warriors are preparing to face each other once again on Wednesday night, and there is going to be a lot of emotion involved.

Take a look at Harden talking the Warriors down during the Rockets’ huddle:

Obviously those comments won’t sit well with Golden State, and these two teams are going to be playing to prove a point on Wednesday. It wouldn’t be surprising at all to see them match up against each other in a seven-game playoff series at some point. Houston has the talent to beat the Warriors, but it isn’t going to be easy.

Steve Kerr has helped take the Warriors to new levels this season, and they are the best team in the NBA at this point in the year. Houston is currently 5 and a half games back of the Warriors in the conference, and should probably watch what they say from now on.

All of that being said, Wednesday night is going to be a must-watch game for any big NBA fan. These two teams are going to bring a little extra to the floor, and Harden is going to do his best to lead his team to a big win.

As usual, the Western Conference is a close race and will be up until the very end. Golden State looks to be the best team in the conference, but there are plenty of other teams that are within striking distance with Houston being one of them.
