13. New Orleans Saints
Need: Defensive Back
In the NFL, good teams have to be able to cover receivers. The New Orleans Saints should know that better than anyone with how good their passing attack has been over the years.
The Saints have plenty of problems, but the main issue is their defense and how many yards they give up. This season, New Orleans was the second-worst team in the league in total yards allowed with 6,144 yards.
Of that 6,144 yards, more than 4,000 yards were given up through the air.
If the Saints are going to be an elite team in the NFL again, itās going to start with fixing the secondary.
Best Pick:Ā Marcus Peters, CB, WashingtonĀ
Marcus Peters had 11 career interceptions in just more than two-and-a-half seasons with the Washington Huskies. Heās a little undersized at 5-11, but his speed and athleticism more than make up for it.
Iām sure the Saints would love to have him, but Peters comes with his issues, which includes a bad temper.Ā Peters was kicked off the team at Washington for his attitude and challenging coaches in practice and during games.
I donāt think that will affect his draft stock much. Peters can play, and thatās what the Saints need.
I think Sean Payton and Drew Brees will be able help Peters channel his frustration and instantly help the Saints in the secondary.
