RB Marshawn Lynch, Seattle

Is there any player that means more to the Seahawks than Lynch?

He symbolizes the way the Seahawks play football. Lynch wants the ball when the game is on the line, and he wants to punish opponents as much as he wants to make big plays and get in the endzone.

Lynch’s teammates feed off of his explosive running style, and he will lead with his forearm and his shoulder in order to avoid going down. Lynch ran for 1,306 yards and 13 touchdowns, and he is often much more effective in the second half than he is in the first.

Many teams like to pay lip service to the importance of the running game, and it’s just so much palaver. Lynch’s ferocity gives Carroll the opportunity to stay true to that tenet.

If Lynch is allowed to make big plays in the fourth quarter the way he did against Green Bay, the Seahawks will have an excellent chance of coming away with their second straight Lombardi Trophy.
