Danny Green took to the court on Tuesday with a sweet custom pair of sneakers that paid homage to the late Stuart Scott.
It has been more than two weeks since Stuart Scott has passed away from cancer. On Tuesday San Antonio Spurs player Danny Green found a fitting way to honor the late sports anchor and fellow North Carolina Tarheels alumnus.
While the Nike Zoom LeBron Soldier 8’s are mainly in Spurs colors, they feature North Carolina colors near Scott’s most famous saying, Booyah. This was a simple way for Green, a fellow Tarheel alumnus, to honor Scott’s legacy on the court Tuesday against the Denver Nuggets. It wasn’t a flashy memorial of Scott that took away from the game. Likewise, the common fan probably didn’t notice his custom Nike shoes.
Despite the minimal nature of Green’s way to honor Scott, it still shows his respect to the late, great SportsCenter anchor. Green is the latest player to honor Scott as many have done following the devastating news of Scott back on January 4th. His legacy will be best remembered with his sayings like “Booyah” and “cooler than the other side of the pillow” and Green showcased that with his custom Nike shoes on Tuesday.
