Dirk Nowitzki calls President Barack Obama’s State Of The Union: Shut it down

Dirk Nowitzki’s famous “shut it down” play-by-play call was added to President Obama’s drop the mic moment at the State Of The Union last night.

If you watched the State Of the Union last night, you saw President Barack Obama get a little testy with republicans in attendance. For those of you who didn’t watch, Obama said he has no more campaigns to run, which led to some loud applause from the republican side of the room.

He then went off script with a snarky response saying he knows this because he won both of them. Just like that, one side of the room goes quiet and the other side of the room goes silent.

You might not have known this, but Dallas Mavericks power forward Dirk Nowitzki was doing some commentary for the State Of The Union speech and he had a great response to Obama’s “drop the mic” moment.

Of course this didn’t really happen, Nowitzki wasn’t calling the State of The Union or offering any kind of commentary on it. If you aren’t familiar with the audio from Dirk Nowitzki and where it came from, he was doing some in-game interviews with the play-by-play guys while he was out with an injury.

Jason Terry found Brandan Wright for the alley-oop and Nowitzki lost his mind with a hot mic in hand.
