Dallas Mavericks point guard Rajon Rondo cuts down the lane and fools the entire Timberwolves team, bench included.

Sometimes even prettier than a terrific slam is the pass. A basketball player’s true worth is measured in how me makes his teammates better.

While scoring gets all the glory, points are only one category on the boxscore filled with other goodies.

Dallas point guard Rajon Rondo knows passing better than just about anybody in the NBA.

He’s currently averaging 9.5 assists per game and a ridiculous 10.8 dimes since he’s joined Dallas. For his career he comes in at a cool 8.5 clip. Defenders know this, and try to react at quick as possible.

Tonight Rondo used that knowledge against them:

In his team’s 98-75 thrashing of the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight, Rondo showcased his talents in the form of the fake, behind the back pass.

Timberwolves defender Thadeus Young didn’t know what end was up or whether Rondo was coming or going. He took the matador defense to a new level.

Tonight Rondo channeled his inner Jayson Williams:

For the game Rondo poured in nine points and contributed with three assists in the easy win.

The Mavericks will face a much tougher test next time out in the form of the Chicago Bulls on Friday night.
