According to a report, former Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase is following his former boss, taking the same position with the Chicago Bears.

Just call them Broncos East.

The Chicago Bears—already with former Denver Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler (or is it “Jake”?) and adding former Broncos head coach John Fox last week—are reportedly bringing on Fox’s offensive coordinator for the last two seasons, Adam Gase.

Gase, 36, was bypassed for the Broncos’ head coaching position in favor of John Elway’s former backup quarterback, former Houston Texans coach Gary Kubiak, and will instead continue to work for Fox.

He was retained when Fox came to Denver in 2011, working for two seasons as quarterbacks coach before moving up to offensive coordinator the last two seasons.

Gase directed the most prolific passing in NFL history in 2013, averaging 340.3 yards per game.

He began his career as a graduate assistant at LSU in 2000 following his graduation from Michigan State in 1999. He was then a recruiting assistant at LSU in 2001-02 before moving to the NFL.

With the Detroit Lions from 2003-07, Gase serves first as a scouting assistant, then as an offensive assistant and finally as quarterbacks coach.

He worked for the San Francisco 49ers as an offensive assistant in 2008 before going to Denver as wide receivers coach in 2009.

Cutler was traded by Denver to the Bears in 2008 and the team is 44-38 in his 82 regular season starts and 1-1 in the one season he directed them to the postseason in 2010.

Last season, Cutler completed 66 percent of his throws—a career-high—for 3,812 yards and 28 touchdowns, but led the NFL with 18 interceptions in his 15 starts.

The Bears finished 5-11 in 2014 and coach Marc Trestman was fired at season’s end.

When Fox and the Broncos parted ways last week, Chicago didn’t wait long to pounce on Fox, who is 119-89 in 13 years as an NFL head coach, including 46-18 over the last four seasons in Denver—which reached the playoff all four years.

Fox was also 73-71 in nine years with the Carolina Panthers, leading them to the Super Bowl after the 2003 season.

On Tuesday, the Bears added former 49ers defensive coordinator Vic Fangio to fill the same post under Fox.

Chicago—long with a reputation for defensive excellence—finished 30th in the league in total defense in 2014, allowing 377.1 yards per game.
