Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant is injured again.

Father time is undefeated and the father claimed another victory today. Kobe Bryant, who has fought as hard as you possibly can to defeat the father, has succumbed to a torn rotator cuff and is headed back to LA for further examination.

If Bryant’s season is over, it ends after just 35 games, while playing only six last year after a season-ending Achilles tear. Very disappointing for Kobe, who has one year left on his two-year 48.5 million dollar contract extension.

Bryant is expected to retire at the end of next year according to GM Mitch Kupchak. That would mark 20 years in the league for Kobe, who will in all likelihood end up the five championships, one short of the holy MJ grail.

Despite all the injuries, I will believe Kobe is retired when I see it. The love of the game will never die for the most competitive player in the league. The shooting percentage is way down, and the injuries continue to come at an alarming rate, but Kobe is still productive. (22 ppg, 5 reb, 5 assists )

Rest up Mamba, then keep going. Just get off the Lakers. Kobe on a competitive team could still be the piece to push someone over the top.
