5. Kevin Durant

25.0 PPG, 3.9 APG, 6.9 RPG, 30.0 PER

Does it get better than Kevin Durant in the NBA?

I honestly don’t know anymore. I love watching LeBron James, Steph Curry, James Harden, Anthony Davis, and all the other stars, but dang… Durant is the best.

In a game where struggled a bit on Wednesday night against the Wizards, Durant still scored 34 points on only 23 shot attempts while leading the Thunder to a comeback victory. Durant also made two incredible plays, shown in the clips below.

First, he did this:

Then, he did this:

Like throwing a grape in the ocean…

Durant has struggled shooting the ball from the field over the last two games and has only made 19-of-47 shots. However, in the three games prior to the last two games, Durant had made 29-of-40 field goal attempts.

I don’t know what’s more surprising, Durant only shooting 40 times in three games (13.3 FGA per game), or that Durant made almost 75 percent of his field goal attempts in the three games.

The Thunder need Durant to shoot more to win, but with Reggie Jackson, Russell Westbrook, and Dion Waiters in the backcourt, there’s going to be a few games where Durant doesn’t get as many shots as he deserves.

As the playoff race gets tighter and tighter down the stretch, I expect Durant to be more assertive, and I think he needs to be more assertive for the Thunder to be successful.
