The NBA announced the starting line up for the Western and Eastern Conference in the All-Star game on Thursday night.

The NBA All-Star game is right around the corner though we don’t know who is going to be playing in it yet. That is until the NBA announced the starting line up for the Western and Eastern Conference on TNT during their pre-game show.

They announced the Western Conference first, which has a deep talent pool to pick from. Interestingly enough, Kobe Bryant was named the starter at his position though he won’t be able to play. It was announced that he has a torn rotator cuff and could likely be done for the season.

Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry was the lead vote getter thanks to a late push that put him past LeBron James.

Western Conference

  • Marc Gasol, Memphis Grizzlies
  • Blake Griffin, Los Angeles Clippers
  • Kobe Bryant, Los Angeles Lakers
  • Anthony Davis, New Orleans Pelicans
  • Steph Curry, Golden State Warriors

Gasol will have a brother playing against him when Pau lines up as a starter for the Eastern. Pau Gasol is having a strong season for the Chicago Bulls and is clearly an All-Star. San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich confirmed his pursuit of Gasol during free agency and pointed to the season as reasoning for why he set his sights on him. Drake and Justin Bieber campaigned hard for Kyle Lowry to get into the game and those efforts seem to have worked. On Christmas Day, Lowry was fourth in voting behind Kryie Irving and Dwyane Wade and leapfrogged both of them to get the nod as a starter Carmelo Anthony was a point of debate amongst the TNT crew after his announcement, and given his team’s struggles you can certainly understand it.

Eastern Conference

  • John Wall, Washington Wizards
  • Kyle Lowry, Toronto Raptors
  • LeBron James, Cleveland Cavaliers
  • Pau Gasol, Chicago Bulls
  • Carmelo Anthony, New York Knicks
