New Mexico Lobos senior guard Hugh Greenwood has huge game after being mocked on Twitter.

It enough for any NCAA basketball player that he or she has to deal with school and sport.  To have to worry about the health of your family at the same time is tough.  That is what New Mexico Lobos senior Hugh Greenwood is going through.  His mom has been diagnosed with second stage breast cancer.

The thing is, people know.  Prior to Greenwood suiting up on Wednesday night against UNLV, he had been dealing with a Twitter troll, supposedly a UNLV fan, who constantly mocked his mother’s diagnosis with jokes about cancer.

Per USA Today’s For The Win, Greenwood was asked after thew game what motivated him to 22 points and his first dunk since his freshman year and it was the Twitter trolling debacle that took place that he said was his motivation.  He would not name the person who mocked the diagnosis.

That’s the best way to get back at someone like that.  It is so easy to get caught up in Twitter and get into it with others.  The best policy in this case was to take action on the court.

The UNLV Rebellion student section had heard about the event and his mother’s diagnosis and had a letter left on the bench for Greenwood before the game wishing his family the best and to show not all UNLV fans are bad.  It was a classy move.
