UFC on Fox 14 is a great card, and it’s going to be fun to watch. The best part about this card is that you get a bunch of good fights and its free on T.V. This was a hard card to pick for DFS because I feel that there could be some upsets on this card, and a lot of fighters have limited action in the UFC.

You get $50,000 to pick 5 fighters, and if you don’t use your money wisely, you will get stuck picking a lot of underdogs. So what I have found is staying away from the heavy favorites makes it easier to create a roster, because the heavy favorites are very expensive and it causes you to get stuck with fighters at the end of your roster who don’t have a chance. Let’s take a look at the rules because fantasy MMA is still very new and a lot of fantasy players don’t know much about the rules.

Significant strikes .5 PTS

Advance 1 PT

Takedown 2 PTS

Reversal/Sweep 2 PTS

1st Round Win 100 PTS

2nd Round Win 70 PTS

3rd Round Win 50 PTS

4th Round Win 40 PTS

5th Round Win 40 PTS

Win by decision 25 PTS

Phil Davis $11,200

Davis (13-2) will be facing 18-4 Ryan Bader, and is considered a heavy favorite heading into this fight. I see Davis wining this fight by a decision. I feel that Davis is too athletic for Bader and he will be able to defend Bader’s take downs.

Andy Ogle $10,400

Ogle (9-5) is facing Makwan Amirkhani (10-2) and this will be Amirkhani’s first fight in the UFC. I will be picking Ogle to win this fight because he has had multiple fights in the UFC and he is more experienced.

Nikita Krylov $10,600

Krylov is 17-4 and he is fighting Stanislav Nedkov (12-1). I’m not going to lie, I don’t know much about these two fighters. I’m picking Krylov in this fight because Stanislav hasn’t fought in 2 years and he was on a one fight losing streak before he went on the two year layoff.

Anthony Johnson $8,800

I feel like Johnson (18-4) is a great value at $8,800 because he is a beast, and I believe he has a chance to beat Gustafsson (16-2). Johnson is on an 8 fight win streak and he hasn’t lost a fight since 2012. Gustafsson is no slouch; he has been the only fighter to take Jon Jones to the limit. I’m very excited to watch this fight.

Dan Henderson $8,400

Henderson (30-12) is a major underdog in this fight against Gegard Mousasi (35-5), and I’m not very confident in him winning this fight. I feel that Henderson has a chance to get a lucky knock out early in the fight, but I feel like it’s not going to end well for him. Henderson is 44 years old and is due to retire, so this could be his last fight. With this lineup I had limited amount of money left and I chose Henderson because he’s experienced and he could get lucky in this fight.
