Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles wears number 29 on helmet during NFL Pro Bowl to honor teammate Eric Berry.
Do not adjust your television set, yes the number 25 which usually graces the helmet of Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles has ben replaced by the number of his teammate Eric Berry. Berry, who had to leave the team during the middle of the season due to his diagnosis of lymphoma, received similar support from many of his teammates during the season.
This symbolic gesture takes place during the Pro Bowl, the largest stage for any Chiefs player to reach this season.
Charles has worn the number on his helmet well going into the half leading Team Carter in rushing attempts and yards.
Berry’s diagnosis initially was deemed treatable and also potentially curable.
Chief’s general manager John Dorsey visited Berry last Thursday and was told that Berry was in “good spirits,” via NBC Sports.
