The New York Knicks’ forward scored in the most Knicks way possible.

There are ways to drive to the hoop and score and then there’s committing every rule violation on your way to scoring. Lance Thomas of the Knicks defied all odds on his way to a basket against the Charlotte Hornets. It wasn’t pretty but Thomas got the job done.

Thomas driving with the ball first got things started with a double dribble violation. Then it appeared he had stepped out of bounds. The fun didn’t stop there either, Thomas left his feet and didn’t shoot, but instead came back down with the ball in a blatant case of traveling.

It’s as bad as it sounds.

So naturally, what did Thomas do next?

He scored, much to the anguish of the Hornets fans trying to scream and point out all the rules that were being violated at once.

The only fitting end would have been if Thomas said something to an official without getting a technical.

When you’re struggling like the Knicks are, you will take points any way you can get them, and Thomas did just that. Unfortunately for New York, they dropped another ugly one on the road, falling to Charlotte 76-71.

The race for the No. 1 pick is on and New York is out leading the pack to the finish line.
