Pro Bowl 2015: Team Irvin knocks off Team Carter, 32-28
By Robby Sabo
In another high-scoring Pro Bowl affair, Michael Irvin’s group gets the best of Chris Carter’s all-stars.
It was what we thought it would be. It was the NFL Pro Bowl.

While the game was more of a disorganized effort that would make a Harlem Globetrotters event seem intense, it still showcased some of the best football players the league has to offer and provided a variety of highlights.
There sure were some pretty plays too as Team Irvin came back from nine points down late in the third quarter to win the game 32-28 over Team Carter.
The number one selection in the Pro Bowl Fantasy Draft, “the neckbeard with the arm” Andrew Luck, got the party started early:
He first connected with Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen on a 17-yard toss.
And then again in the first quarter he found his old reliable in teammate wide receiver TY Hilton.
In between those Team Carter scores, Denver Broncos receiver Emmanuel Sanders beat his man on a slant as he grabbed one from Drew Brees in the endzone.
Quarterbacks had a field day in the game as they usually do. Four of the six quarterbacks, Brees, Luck, Matt Stafford and Matt Ryan all finished with two touchdowns. Stafford went nuts with 316 yards on 15 of 25 passing, all three stats were game highs. Stafford was named the Offensive MVP.
One of the guys Stafford enjoyed throwing to was New York Giants rookie sensation Odell Beckham Jr. We all knew the possibility of OBJ making a nice grab or two in the game was high, and he didn’t disappoint.
If the quarterbacks enjoyed their time, then Houston Texans defensive lineman JJ Watt enjoyed making the few defensive plays of the game. One of them came right before the half as he appeared out of nowhere to rob Stafford on the goalline.
Watt finished the night with that interception, a fumble recovery and an assisted tackle as he took home Defensive MVP honors.
Team Irvin was staring down defeat right in the face. Michel Irvin even gave us a little “C’mon Man.”
Defeat was imminent for Irvin. That was, until, Mike Tirico was told by Irvin on national television that his ace in the hole, Matt Ryan would come in and take control of this game.
That’s exactly what he did.
He entered the game trailing by two possessions. After Ryan found Sanders for his second touchdown late in the third quarter, he capped off a comeback win for Irvin’s bunch with a strike on fourth down to New Orleans Saints tight end Jimmy Graham.
It gave Team Irvin the 32-28 lead as they scored the last 13 points of the game.
Andy Dalton took control for Team Carter with one last chance to regain the lead, but Dalton played like the primetime-playoffs Dalton and couldn’t muster a drive against Irvin’s defense.
Saints running back Mark Ingram finished with a game high 79 yards rushing. Golden Tate and Antonio Brown each had 98 yards receiving.
The result of the game had Chris Carter in a state of shock.
We think he was delirious. Then again who could blame him? What can be worse than having to now go through life with one Michael Irvin yammering in your ear about this one game?
