SNL pits ‘The Voice’ against ‘American Idol’ in Family Feud sketch (Video)
By Hayden Kane
SNL ran a sketch on their show this weekend that pitted two of the biggest reality shows in the entertainment world against one another.
It was ‘The Voice’ versus ‘American Idol’ on ‘Saturday Night Live’ this weekend. And no, NBC didn’t blatantly have their own program win to make some sort of point.

With ‘Voice’ coach Blake Shelton as the host of SNL, the cast rounded up impressions of the coaches and judges from the two best-known competition based singing shows. Adam Levin, Pharrell, and Christina Aguilera were there for ‘The Voice.’ Keith Urban, Nicki Minaj, Harry Connick Jr., and Steven Tyler were there from ‘Idol.’
Such as the last couple seasons of the respective shows have gone, those participants are a touch random and not exactly right on, but for the purposes of this skit, they were still pretty darn funny.
As for the final joke of the skit, let’s just say that it is fitting if you have watched the show before.

“This has been three years in the making.” Anybody who has watched even part of an episode of NBC’s singing show knows what’s up with the final joke in this skit.
