A look at the results from tonight’s Royal Rumble event in Philadelphia
Well after all of the smaller matches were out of the way, it was then time for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match between Brock Lesnar, John Cena and Seth Rollins. It’s time to find out who the champion will be come WrestleMania.
Out first for this one was John Cena to a LOUD chorus of boos from the crowd in Philly, as well as everyone telling him he sucks, per usual. Following Cena was the entrance of Rollins with a humongous pop, followed by the champ himself, Brock Lesnar, who was also received rather well.
This one got started off in a big way, with Lesnar hitting Cena with two German suplexes, just like SummerSlam. Lesnar would then turn some attention to Rollins. He just kept delivering them suplexes. As expected at one point, Rollins and Cena did a little teaming up to try and calm Lesnar down, but that didn’t last all that long.
Eventually, Brock went back to dominating once again. There was one particular spot where Rollins shot himself off of the ropes, Brock actually caught him and delivered an F-5. Definitely the spot of the night. After that, Brock ate three AA’s from Cena and STILL kicked out.
So far, this match is delivering.
On the outside, Cena took Lesnar out with the stairs and laid him on a table. From there, Rollins gave everyone the highlight of the night when he dove from the top rope and planted Brock through the table.
Yeah, that was incredible.
After that, Brock stayed on the outside and the stretcher came out to get Lesnar while Cena and Rollins battled in the ring.
Eventually, Brock got off the stretcher, got back into the ring and hit Seth Rollins with the F-5 for the win at the Royal Rumble.
This was one of the best triple threats ever. Kudos to all three men.
