Report: St. Louis Rams interested in acquiring Nick Foles
By Evan Massey
The St. Louis Rams are interested in trading for Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles if they make him available this offseason.
Nick Foles was one of the most impressive quarterbacks in the NFL in 2013, but this year he struggled a bit before going down with a broken collarbone that kept him out the remainder of the year.

During the 2013 season in 13 games, Foles racked up 2,891 yards, 27 touchdowns, and just two interceptions. Those numbers were among the best in the NFL, but he took a step backwards this year. In the games that he played in 2014, Foles threw for 2,163 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.
He simply wasn’t as careful with the football, and the Eagles ended up playing Mark Sanchez at the quarterback position for the rest of the season. There have been rumors that Philadelphia would like to bring in a new starting quarterback in the draft, and Chip Kelly would like to trade up for Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota.
The St. Louis Rams are going to be very aggressive looking for a new quarterback this offseason, and according to a report from NJ.com, they would be interested in acquiring Foles. That would all depend, of course, on whether or not the Eagles decide to put him on the trading block.
Sam Bradford was expected to be the savior of the Rams’ franchise, but two torn ACL’s in as many seasons have wrecked his career. There is still a chance that he can turn things around, but the Rams know that they can’t wait around and hope that his knees will heal.
Foles would give them a very talented 26-year-old option at the quarterback position. He would have quite a few weapons in St. Louis with names like Tavon Austin, Jared Cook, Stedman Bailey, Brian Quick, and of course Tre Mason coming along as the starting running back. It would certainly make for a much more dynamic offense for Jeff Fisher.
St. Louis is going to bring in another quarterback to compete with Bradford and whoever else is on the Rams’ roster at the time. They are not going to mess around this offseason, and they believe that they could make a run at a playoff spot with a legitimate quarterback under center.
It is going to be a very interesting offseason to keep an eye on the Rams, as they are looking to do some big things if the opportunity presents itself. Foles is one name to keep an eye on, but they won’t limit themselves to him alone.
