Sacramento Kings and New York Knicks game postponed
By Dave Fuqua
Due to a major impending snowstorm, the NBA has postponed tonight’s game with the Sacramento Kings and New York Knicks.
As the northeast part of the country braces for a snowstorm of historic proportions, the NBA has moved to postpone and reschedule tonight’s game with the Kings and the Knicks. The game has been rescheduled for March 3. The storm has already been tabbed as #snowmaggedon2015 and #blizzardof2015.
The NBA has also moved to postpone the Portland Trail Blazers and the Brooklyn Nets game which was scheduled for tonight as well moving it to April 6.
It is nice to see the NBA making this move early in an effort to promote the safety and the serious nature that this storm will present for people of New York and most of the upper northeast section of America.

The National Weather Service has tabbed this storm as “crippling and potentially historic”. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has declared a state of emergency as forecasts are calling for 20 to 30 inches of snow.
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has also declared a state of emergency for his state. Officials seem to be taking this storm very serious as the mayor of New York City has also ordered that no cars should be on streets after 11p.m. on Monday night. The city has also closed schools in anticipation of the storm.
Knicks fans are probably happy to see the game be postponed, as they are enduring probably the worst season in most fans recent memory. The Knicks have the second-worst record in the NBA this year only slightly better than the Minnesota Timberwolves, but are staring at the possibility of Carmelo Anthony being shut down for the rest of the season.
The Knicks are losing their draw to sell what normally is one of the NBA’s hottest tickets sporting lineups with players who did not even start the season on a NBA roster. Not to take anything away from players like Langston Galloway, but they are not what the fans will pay good money to see.
This should give Knicks president of basketball operations Phil Jackson and coach Derek Fisher plenty of opportunity to see what young players like Shane Larkin and Tim Hardaway Jr. can offer the franchise for the future, but this will be a tough season for the Knicks’ faithful to endure.
