34.) Super Bowl IX – Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings came into this game after losing the previous Super Bowl to the Dolphins, and the Steelers made it consecutive losses for Minnesota by winning 16-6.
These two teams were built in similar fashion: they had two really good quarterbacks and two great defenses.
Although it was the first Super Bowl appearance for the Steelers, they were the ones that looked like they had been there before and dominated in nearly every phase of the game.
Pittsburgh’s defense was able to hold Fran Tarkenton and company to only six points by forcing five turnovers and only allowing 119 total yards of offense.
Pittsburgh’s fullback Franco Harris was awarded Super Bowl MVP after he rushed for 158 yards and a touchdown.
