8. Troy Aikman in Super Bowl XXVII

QB, Dallas Cowboys

Troy Aikman quarterbacked ‘America’s Team’ to three Super Bowl championships in the 1990s. On Jan. 31, 1993 he played his greatest game on the big stage as the Cowboys decimated Buffalo 52-17. Aikman played a near-flawless game and was named the MVP of Super Bowl XXVII.

He was 22-30 on the day finishing with 273 yards and four touchdown passes. He did not throw an interception in the game, but did add 28 rushing yards on the ground. His great play helped lead Dallas to the beginning of its dynasty and for that he’ll always be remembered. Aikman is in the Hall of Fame now, but his legacy stretches back to this game which took place over 20 years ago. Sometimes his play is overlooked because of how stacked with talent his team was, but he does deserve this top-10 placement.
