7. Jerry Rice in Super Bowl XXIV

WR, San Francisco 49ers

I told you there would be more Jerry Rice on this list and spoiler alert — there’s still more to come. On Jan. 28, 1990 the San Francisco 49ers won their final Super Bowl of the Joe Montana era in spectacular fashion. They beat the Denver Broncos 55-10 and Rice was a major reason why.

He kicked off the game in scoring as he hauled in a 20 yard pass from Montana, but he wasn’t done. Rice caught a total of three touchdowns in the game on seven receptions that went for 148 yards. He wouldn’t be named the MVP of the game, but he certainly could have been. His third touchdown reception gave the ‘Niners a 34-3 lead in the third quarter. Denver never really stood a chance in this game and Rice can be blamed for that.
