7. Super Bowl XLIV – Saints 31, Colts 17

This is yet another game that may not be on a lot of Super Bowl underdog lists, but the New Orleans Saints certainly were underdogs. Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts were expected to come away with a win, but Drew Brees wasn’t about to let that happen.

New Orleans ended up winning their first Super Bowl title in franchise history, and it all ended on a Tracy Porter interception of Manning. The Colts put up a great fight, but the Saints were too good of an all-around team for them to overcome. Neither team was much better than the other in the regular season as far as their records were concerned, but the Colts’ offense was expected to tear the Saints apart.

All of that being said, Sean Payton came in with a great game plan and got the job done. The Indianapolis defense was no match for Brees, and they ended up getting beat the way that they were used to beating other teams.
