Vanderbilt football players convicted of raping woman in dorm

A jury has found two former Vanderbilt football players guilty on charges of rape

Two former Vanderbilt University football players, Brandon Vandenburg and Corey Batey, were found guilty just a short time ago on charges of raping a woman a few years ago in one of the campus dorms.

It did not take long for a jury to convict the two former Vanderbilt players, as they were in deliberations for just a few hours before coming back with the guilty verdict.

Both players were facing charges on five counts of aggravated rape and two charges of sexual battery.

This is just the beginning of the process, however, as there are two other defendants in this case that have yet to face the jury. Two other ex-players, Brandon Banks and Jaborian McKenzie also face charges of rape and sexual battery, and much like the two that were found guilty today, they have also entered a plea of not guilty to the heinous charges.

Count 1: aggravated rape, anal penetration with fingers

Count 2: aggravated rape, vaginal penetration with fingers

Count 3: aggravated rape, mouth penetration with penis

Count 4: attempted aggravated rape, vaginal penetration with penis

Count 5: aggravated rape, criminal responsibility for anal penetration with water bottle by Brandon Banks

Count 6: aggravated sexual battery, contact with private areas

Count 7: aggravated sexual battery, slapping of buttocks

Brandon Vandenburg was found guilty of:

Count 1: aggravated rape, criminal responsibility for Batey’s anal penetration with fingers

Count 2: aggravated rape, criminal responsibility for Batey’s vaginal penetration with fingers

Count 3: aggravated rape, criminal responsibility for Batey’s mouth penetration with penis

Count 4: attempted aggravated rape, criminal responsibility for Batey’s vaginal penetration with penis

Count 5: aggravated rape, criminal responsibility for anal penetration with water bottle by Brandon Banks

Count 6: aggravated sexual battery, criminal responsibility for contact with private areas

Count 7: aggravated sexual battery, slapping of buttocks

Count 8: tampering with evidence by destruction of condoms after rape

Count 9: unlawful photography, by sending images to others

A sentencing hearing should take place on March 6
