New England Patriots star cornerback Darrelle Revis does not miss the New York Jets, and is happy to be on a Super Bowl contending football team.

Darrelle Revis found his way to the New England Patriots prior to the 2014-15 season, and he has been a big part of their defense. New England is now preparing to take on the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl 49, and Revis is going to be asked to step up in a big way and make plays against Russell Wilson.

This will be the first Super Bowl that Revis has played in, and he couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity. The media asked him about his time with the New York Jets, and he responded with class until finally admitting the truth. It ended up being said that he doesn’t miss the Jets and is happy to be on a championship contending team.

“Management made the call at that time and they felt it was best to get rid of me. So that’s the situation,” Revis said. That’s how I look at it. Actually I don’t miss the Jets.”

He was asked whether or not he would consider re-signing with the Jets at some point in his career, but he didn’t commit to an answer either way. Revis would likely rather remain on a contender for the rest of his career, but finishing where he started might be a draw later on down the road.

At 29 years of age, he still has plenty of good football left in him before he considers retirement. He is still playing at a very high level and is able to leave an impact on each game he plays in. Revis doesn’t put up the type of interception numbers that he once did, but he still scares away quarterbacks from throwing in his direction a good amount of the time.

During the 2014 regular season, Revis ended up compiling 47 tackles to go along with two interceptions, a forced fumble, and 14 defensed passes. Those numbers aren’t shabby at all, and simply having his presence on the field helped the Patriots’ passing defense.

Looking ahead to the Super Bowl, he will be looking to cash in on any mistake that Wilson makes. Against the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship game, Wilson ended up throwing four interceptions. That doesn’t happen too often, but it does show that he is more than capable of making a mistake if he is under pressure.

Revis is going to do everything in his power to lead the Patriots to a Super Bowl win, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him make a big play or two. Great players rise up in big games, and that is exactly the situation for Revis.
