Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant made an interesting analogy for his shoulder injury.
Kobe Bryant’s return season from injury came to an end once again due to injury. Bryant had been dealing with a torn rotator cuff since the preseason and finally the injury got too severe for the five-time NBA champion to continue on the season. When speaking about his injury, Bryant made an analogy that was head scratching to say the least.

Bryant said to The Player Tribune that his injury was like running a kick off back in the Super Bowl and getting it called back.
“I feel like I just returned a 100 yard kickoff in the last two minutes of the Super Bowl to win it all only to have my run called back by a flag on the play.” Bryant said.
It’s quite the analogy to make considering the Lakers have one of the worst records in the league and nothing about them screams championship at the moment let alone something that would make you think of the Super Bowl.
While Bryant did make a return this year after his season was shut down due to a knee injury last year, his return, was nothing close to being that of scoring a touchdown in the biggest game and then having it called back.
That would require controversy such as a ref decision to be involved.
You can speculate and theorize Bryant’s statement all day, but at the end of the day it’s a terrible analogy. However, the point is the whole situation is disappointing especially for Bryant who worked hard to get back on the court for his team.
Bryant was selected to his 17th All-Star game this year and averaged 22.3 points per game for the Lakers. Before he got hurt, he had a game where he set a career high 17 assists.
Let’s hope in his down time, he can practice his analogies a little more.
