The script was penned by Aaron Sorkin, known as one of the most acclaimed screenwriters of recent times, and was originally to be directed by David Fincher.
There was a lot of buzz and excitement for the film since Sorkin and Fincher’s last collaboration was The Social Network, the story of fellow technological pioneer Mark Zuckerberg, which got some pretty decent reviews.
But before the film got off the ground, Fincher dropped out. Then, Christian Bale, who was originally slated to play Jobs, also dropped out of the project, leaving the film’s future uncertain.
Things turned around, however, when acclaimed director Danny Boyle took over directing duties and Michael Fassbender was cast as Jobs. Though grainy, here’s our first look at Fassbender on the film’s set.

The upcoming film should not be confused with the 2013 Jobs which saw Ashton Kutcher as the Apple CEO (and was one hell of a spitting image). Despite a pretty impressive turn from Kutcher, the film was less than spectacular.
The man who was Steve Jobs is a difficult character to encapsulate, as a portrayal must merge his amazing feats and innovations with his crippling and alienating flaws.
We can’t wait to see Fassbender, one of the finest actors of his generation, take him on.
