What the Flick?! got really uncomfortable when one of the hosts started talking about porn while discussing a kid’s movie
In an appearance on the film review web series What the Flick?!, Ben Mankiewicz, host of Turner Classic Movies, joined Christy Lemire and Rotten Tomatoes’ editor Matt Atchity to discuss some new movies.
While discussing how much they hated George Lucas’ new children’s movie, Strange Magic, things got really weird when Mankiewicz said he watched Strange Magic the same way that he watched “incest porn.”
Yeah, someone actually said they watched “incest porn” on camera while it was recording so other people could watch it.
WHAT?!
Obviously, Atchity and Lemire were taken aback by this idiot’s attempt at humor as anyone would be. And, Lemire let’s out the most confused/horrified “what?” you’ll ever hear in your entire life.

Mankiewicz clarified his apparent joke by saying, “you’ve got to turn the sound down, and then it’s just porn.”
We get the jist, Ben, but it’s equally horrifying.
For the remainder of the clip, which is about 20 seconds, Mankiewicz tries to walk back and explain his comment, starting with the “every guy gets a big box of porn from a friend” thing and then goes on to explain one of the tapes was always “incest porn.”
In his head, I’m sure Mankiewicz felt like he was making it better, but it just kept getting worse and worse.
Awkward.
I’m guessing he won’t be invited back to the show any time soon.
