LeBron James said point guard Kyrie Irving carried the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night when he scored a career high 55 points.
The Cleveland Cavaliers got a big win on Wednesday night over the Portland Trailblazers.
It was a close and thrilling contest and the Cavaliers certainly wouldn’t have gotten a win if it weren’t for point guard Kyrie Irving going off for a career high 55 points, including a dagger three-pointer with just seconds left in the game.
Cavaliers superstar and clear leader LeBron James didn’t play because of a wrist injury, but he did have praise for his teammate after the game.

“Yo man, when I tell you I probably just witnessed one of the greatest single performances, live, in my life, man – that’s exactly what I just saw,” James
of Irving in a video for Bleacher Report. “That boy Kyrie, he already stamped his All-Star nod, but he even … three more stamps tonight, man. Fifty-five in a win, game-winning three. You know, he carried us all night man. Big shot after big shot after big shot. “Kyrie, the truth, you the truth, kid. Keep going man, that was huge. That’s what it’s all about, man, in this league, baby. Support, and great performances and brotherhood, man. And that boy did it tonight, man. Kyrie, all star, superstar on his way, leader on his way. Everything, man, keep going.” Irving definitely deserved praise for carrying the team on his back. It was evident to anyone watching the game and he seemed like the only Cleveland player capable of making a shot at various times throughout the game. It had James dancing after the game, that is for sure.
