Minnesota Timberwolves refuse to acknowledge Kevin Love’s existence in new video

It’s become customary in the NBA to honor former players when they return to their former team’s arena with a new team. The Boston Celtics put on a very touching tribute to Rajon Rondo when he returned to Boston with the Dallas Mavericks. Miami did the same thing for LeBron James.

The Minnesota Timberwolves, however, are taking a different approach to welcoming back their former star Kevin Love by trolling the hell out of him.

On Thursday, the Wolves posted this video on YouTube called #TheReturn as a promo for Saturday’s upcoming game with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Love’s new team.

In the video, the Timberwolves mention every main player on the Cavs, but they left Love out of the video completely.

More from Cleveland Cavaliers

The title, “#TheReturn,” is actually alluding to the return of Mike Miller, who played for Minnesota for one season back in 2008-09.

While it’s nice to think the Timberwolves have forgotten about their former star, Love will be very real on the court on Saturday, and if I’m not mistaken, will not be too happy about the video.

I’m one of those people who believes in the “don’t poke the bear” philosophy in sports. Love has been struggling and is only averaging 12.8 points on 38 percent shooting over his last five games.

Why give Love any extra motivation coming into the game?

I love the troll move, but come on, Minnesota, you’re the one who hired David Kahn and watched as he ran the team into the ground. Don’t hate on Love for wanting to leave that crappy team.
