J.J. Watt following in the steps of Rocky
By Evan Massey
Houston Texans defensive star J.J. Watt is following in the steps of Rocky as he purchased a remote cabin to train out of.
J.J. Watt is one of the legitimate candidates for the NFL’s 2014-15 Most Valuable Player award, and had yet another dominant season for the Houston Texans. He has been known for the hard work he puts in to get better, and he is taking that to a new level this offseason.

Rocky Balboa is a huge movie character and one of the most famous names in movie history. Watt has decided to follow in his workout steps and purchase a remote cabin to train out of during his offseasons. It is a classic move that the Rocky movies were well known for, as Balboa trained far away from civilization and put aside all of the distractions.
That being said, it is going to be very intriguing to see how he comes back next season. Watt has gotten better each season he has been in the NFL, and that is expected to be the case once again this year.
Houston took steps forward this season, but Watt is still their franchise player and leader. They still have a few moves to make in order to get back to postseason contention, but Watt’s continued improvement is going to help make them better defensively as well.
“After this week, I get to go back there and just kind of lay low,” Watt said. “It’s in southeast Wisconsin, but it’s out a little bit. I’ve actually only slept there four nights so far. I always go back to Wisconsin, but this is my first year of actually having a place. I’m excited about that.”
During the 2014 regular season, Watt ended up racking up 78 tackles, four forced fumbles, 20.5 sacks, five fumble recoveries, an interception, a defensive touchdown, and 10 swatted passes.
Those numbers alone show just how valuable Watt was for the Texans this past season. Aaron Rodgers is widely expected to end up winning the MVP award, but Watt is more than deserving of the award as well.
It is going to be very interesting to see what this offseason does for Watt and whether or not he can improve off of this season. There can’t be too much room left for him to get better, but it is certainly fun to see him do this kind of thing. His story keeps getting more interesting, and this move just makes it better.
