49ers, Cowboys legend Charles Haley makes Hall of Fame

Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers defensive legend Charles Haley makes it into the 2015 Pro Football Hall of Fame class.
The NFL Honors are taking place on Saturday night, the eve of Super Bowl XLIX between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks. That means end of season awards are being passed out and they’re announcing who will be headed into the Hall of Fame.
We learned ahead of the awards show that Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jerome Bettis will be inducted into the Hall of Fame, and now there is a report that Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers defensive legend Charles Haley will be inducted.
It has been a long time coming for Haley, who won five Super Bowls during his playing days and is also the only NFL player to accomplish the feat. Haley has been knocking on the door for years only to come up short time and time again, but it looks like that has come to an end.
But Haley told 103.3 ESPN’s “The Afternoon Show” on Friday he didn’t play for individual accolades.
“The thing I love about when I played is I got a chance to play for some of the greatest coaches and with some of the greatest players,” Haley said, via Fox Sports. “The Hall of Fame is an individual award. Team awards meant the most to me.”
Ronnie Lott tweeted out his congratulations to Haley as well, confirming Clarence Hill’s report.
