Bruce Arians wins NFL’s Coach of the Year award
By Evan Massey
Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians won the 2014 NFL Coach of the Year award after leading his team to an 11-5 regular season record.
Bruce Arians helped lead the Arizona Cardinals to an 11-5 regular season record this past year, but unfortunately, injuries tore the end of their season apart. Both Carson Palmer and Drew Stanton went down with knee injuries, which left Arians having to use third-string quarterback Ryan Lindley at the end of the year and into the playoffs.
Despite not being able to get a win in the playoffs and the rough end to the season, Arians was rewarded with the honor of being named the Coach of the Year for the 2014-15 season. He was very deserving after leading the Cardinals to an NFC leading record throughout the majority of the season.
This past season was Arians’ second year of being an NFL head coach, and it was very successful to say the very least. He has completely changed the outlook for the Cardinals in the future, and they are expecting to take a step further next season.

Arizona has all of the talent that they need to make a run at a Super Bowl in the next year or two, but they need their starting quarterback to remain healthy. They have put together a very strong defense, although they didn’t play up to their full potential throughout the majority of the season this past year. Offensively they have some real talent, and will continue to get better with all of the youth they have on the roster.
There is no question that Arians was deserving of this award, and it is good to see him recognized, despite the disappointing end of the season. He has taken the Cardinals to being legitimate contenders in the NFC, and they still have plenty of room to grow and some flexibility to make moves in the offseason.
It will be very intriguing to see what the Cardinals look like at the start of next season. Palmer will be back healthy, and they will likely have made some moves to improve the few holes that they had.
Expect to see the Cardinals come back and remain towards the top of the NFC once again. They have a very balanced team and a great head coach leading the way. Arizona may not win a Super Bowl, but they are certainly going to be a team to keep an eye on if they continue on the trend that they are expected to.
