Jim Kelly was absolutely overcome with emotion Saturday night during the NFL Honors awards ceremony
Anyone who is the slightest of a football fan knows the courageous story by now of Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly and his battle with cancer. The former Bills Super Bowl signal caller has been battling the horrific disease for the past few years, and with the help of his wife chronicling his journey along the way, we all feel as if we’ve been there every step of the way with him.
Well, as he has stated time and time again, Kelly is more than appreciative of all the support that he has received from not only the fans, but his National Football League peers. On Saturday night, that appreciation shined through once again, as Kelly was just overcome with emotion that he could not hold back.
During the annual
NFL Honors
show on Saturday night, Kelly was introduced to help make the introductions for the 2015 Pro Football Hall of Fame class. Upon his arrival onto the stage, Kelly received a more than deserved standing ovation, and he just could not hold back the tears once again.
Tears or not, Kelly deserves a standing ovation every time he’s in a public situation such as this, because we could all wish we could be as strong as he has been throughout his battle with cancer.
