3. Frank Gore

Frank Gore is one of the most consistent running backs in the NFL, and it is possible that he could move on from his time with the San Francisco 49ers after 10 seasons. At 31 years of age, there are only a couple of good seasons left in his career.

This past season with the 49ers, he carried the football 255 times for 1,106 yards and four touchdowns. Those numbers don’t look too terribly impressive, but they are consistent for the usage he saw. Carlos Hyde appears to be a potential starter for next season, and Gore might decide that it is time for a fresh start elsewhere.

San Francisco might decide to bring him back for another season or two out of respect for what he has meant to their franchise.

All of that being said, the veteran running back is definitely a player to keep an eye on this season. He is still more than capable of making a difference on any team that gives him a contract, and is going to garner plenty of interest around the NFL. Free agency is never easy for veteran players who have spent their entire career in one place, but Gore won’t be scared to sign with another team if it would better his career.
