Odell Beckham Jr. wins Offensive Rookie of the Year
By Evan Massey
New York Giants star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. won the NFL’s 2014-15 Offensive Rookie of the Year award.
Odell Beckham Jr. was one of the most polarizing figures in the NFL this season, and it was lost at times that he was playing in just his rookie season. There weren’t many receivers in the NFL that were better than him down the stretch, and he has been named the 2014-15 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year for his outstanding efforts.
It wasn’t surprising that he was announced as the winner of the award, even though there were a couple other very good offensive rookies. Fellow wide receivers Mike Evans and Kelvin Benjamin were very good as well, but they weren’t nearly the star that Beckham Jr. became after missing a few games early in the year with an injury.

New York was in desperate need of finding a new number one wide receiver for Eli Manning, and Beckham was exactly what they needed.
During the 13 regular season games that he ended up playing in this year, Beckham caught 91 passes for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns. Despite missing three games earlier in the year, he was able to play at an unbelievable level down the stretch. He ended up recording seven 100-yard games, and all but one of those games was over 130 yards.
Needless to say, the future is extremely bright for Beckham and the Giants. There haven’t been many rookies that have shown the type of progression and talent that Beckham did in recent NFL history, and he has the hunger to get better and continue improving his game. To prove that point, he reached out to both LeBron James and Michael Jordan for advice on how to get to the top of a sport.
At just 22 years of age, the NFL is looking at the next superstar wide receiver. It isn’t likely that Beckham is going to allow his success this year to change his work ethic.
Expect to see Beckham continue improving next season and become an even better player. The Giants truly believe that he will continue living up to what he showed this season, and will take yet another step next season. If that does end up happening, the NFL is going to have another elite wide receiver.
All of that being said, let’s end this with a video of one of the most impressive touchdown catches that has ever been made in NFL history.
