The Aaron Hernandez trial is delayed until Tuesday due to another Massachusetts snow storm in the forecast.
As Aaron Hernandez’s former team, the New England Patriots go through their final preparations for Super Bowl XLIX, the former tight end’s murder trial has been delayed until Tuesday thanks to yet another snow storm about to hit the Massachusetts area, according to Dan Wetzel. Hernandez himself won’t be allowed to watch his former team play the Seahawks in the Super Bowl. Hernandez is isolated from other prisoners in the North Darmouth jail and one of the things he’s not allowed to do is watch television.

According to Bristol County Sheriff Thomas Hodgson via Fox News, Hernandez has always been subject to such restrictions while in the jail, and other inmates only get one hour of television in the evening as well.
On the other side of the trial, the judge in the case, Susan Garsh, ruled on Saturday that the jurors in the trial are allowed to watch the Super Bowl on Sunday. The NFL probably hopes that there is little to no mention of Hernandez during any of the broadcast time, but NBC can pretty much talk about what they want and Hernandez could easily become relevant considering he was the top receiver in the last Super Bowl the Patriots appeared in.
Judge Garsh did caution the jurors not just to slog out on their couches with pizza, but instead stay alert for any mention of Hernanez during the broadcast. If Hernandez is mentioned, her directions to the jurors was quite clear.
"“You hear that word, you’ve got to walk out of the room,” Garsh said. “Distance yourself.” (via CNN)"
Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to murdering Odin Lloyd in 2013. His two alleged accomplices in Ernest Wallace and Carlos Ortiz have also pleaded not guilty, but will be tried separately. A few days ago, graphic photos were shown to the jury of Lloyd’s body, causing his mother Ursula Ward to walk out of the courtroom in tears. Lloyd was shot six times and found lying on his back in an industrial park.
On Thursday, the prosecutor claimed that Hernandez not only planned the murder, but participated in it as well. He also obviously tried to cover up the murder by destroying evidence. A clear motive has never been established, other than that Hernandez was apparently angry at Lloyd some days before when they were in a club together.
