Bill Belichick did not receive a rousing ovation during the national anthem performance at Super Bowl 49

We were told during the week and even on Sunday that there were a lot of Seahawks fans in attendance for Super Bowl 49 as the team looks to go back-to-back, and this was apparently confirmed during the national anthem prior to the game when Bill Belichick popped up on the jumbotron.

It more or less goes without saying that Belichick is one of the most hated villains in all of the NFL, and among the rabid Seahawks fan base on Sunday, he’s in hostile territory.

This was clearly evidenced before the game even started, as Belichick was shown on the jumbotron during the performance of the national anthem, and he was met with a drove of boos.

Now of course, it’s notĀ allĀ Seahawks fans, as there are some casual football fans in attendance too. But, again, Belichick is one of the top villains in the NFL.
