A well-timed Chevy commercial during the Super Bowl gave viewers everywhere a brief scare, prompting an amusing chain of reactions on Twitter.


Chevy set the bar high early in the Super Bowl when they freaked out viewers just settling in to watch the big game between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots. If you didn’t catch the commercial, do so now without the beneficial effect of having watched it live on your television.

Naturally, this freaked out plenty of the 190 million plus viewers expected to tune in to Super Bowl XLIX. We can’t document each and every such case, but here are a few, compliments of SI.com.

The key words there are ‘for a second’. Beyond that second, Chevy quickly established themselves as among the cleverest of ad-makers to this point in the Super Bowl broadcast. You can rate this and any other advertisement as it airs and let companies know how well they did. Judging by the initial reaction, it looks like Chevy has a winner on its hands.
