Dallas Cowboys star wide receiver Dez Bryant is a free agent this offseason, but made it clear that he loves the franchise and would like to return to the team next year.
Dez Bryant and the Dallas Cowboys had a great season this year, finishing the regular season with a 12-4 record and an NFC East division title. They won their first playoff game against the Detroit Lions, but unfortunately ended up falling at the hands of the Green Bay Packers in the divisional round of the playoffs.

This coming offseason is going to be very tough for the Cowboys, as they are having to deal with both Bryant and running back DeMarco Murray being free agents. Bryant appears to want to return, and the Cowboys appear to value him a bit higher at this point in time than Murray.
That being said, they would like to bring both of them back in a perfect world. Finances are going to be very difficult to work out, especially with both deserving large paydays. Bryant is younger and is much more capable of staying on the field and out of injury issues, and is one of the best wide receivers in the entire league.
He made it clear that he would like to return to the Cowboys next year, and that his heart is with the franchise.
“Regardless, I’m a Cowboy,” Bryant said. “But it is what it is. It’s business. I am a free agent. I’m very confident that something is going to happen, something is going to get done, and have these Cowboys fans excited for a long time. I’m a Cowboy at heart. It’s Cowboys forever.”
Bryant ended up putting up huge stats this past season, catching 88 passes for 1,320 yards and 16 touchdowns. At 6’2″ with the type of athleticism he possesses, there aren’t many defensive backs that can defend Bryant one-one-one.
It is going to be intriguing to see what type of numbers the Cowboys discuss with Bryant this offseason. They are expected to figure something out fairly early on, but it is going to be a big contract. Bryant isn’t going to take much of a hometown discount if any, and there are going to be plenty of other teams willing to offer massive deals.
Jerry Jones knows that he has to bring back his superstar wide receiver, and he is going to get the deal done at any cost. Dallas fans shouldn’t be too nervous about a future without Bryant, especially after seeing these comments.
