The Seattle Seahwaks have offered Marshawn Lynch a contract extension that could make him the 2nd highest paid running back in the league.
Marshawn Lynch has been getting all the attention during the Super Bowl festivities for his hesitation to speak to the media. He just makes his appearance at the press conferences and has not said a word. Lucky for him he is not paid to talk to people. He is paid to run the football for the Seattle Seahawks.

The Seahawks are looking to keep Marshawn Lynch around as long as he wants to run that football. The team has offered him a huge contract extension that could keep him in Seattle for the rest of his career per multiple sources. He is getting set to play in his 2nd straight Super Bowl tonight and is closing out a dominating season with the Seahawks.
Lynch finished the year with 1,306 rushing yards and 13 touchdownss this season. He averaged 4.7 yards per carry during the year and he is averaging 5.5 yards per carry in the playoffs.
The offered deal from Seattle for Lynch is believed to start at $10 million next season. He was set to make $5 million next season on his current deal. That current contract will end after next season and he was set to make $5 million in the 2015 season,
Lynch’s agent Doug Hendrickson and the Seahawks have been discussing a new deal for the last few weeks. The two sides could come to an agreement fairly soon.
Earlier in the year, it was believed that the two sides would part ways at the end of the season. Lynch is due a lot of money and the team wasn’t sure if he would be worth the money. Now they are looking to give him a deal that would make him the second highest paid running back.
Lynch is the heart and soul of the Seahwaks offense. The team depends on his ability to dominate in the run game and the rest of the offense opens up because of his ability to pick up big chunks of yards. The team looks to have 3rd and manageable situations and that is largely dependent on Lynch’s ability to pick up yards.
Lynch is 28 years old and should have a few more seasons left to play this game at a high level. The Seahawks want to make sure that those last few seasons will be in a Seattle Seahawks jersey.
