New England Patriots win Super Bowl 49
Tom Brady throws for 328 yards and four touchdowns as New England Patriots hold off the Seattle Seahawks
Despite throwing two interceptions, the New England patriots were able to overcome a 10-point deficit to win Super Bowl 49.
Both teams got off to a rough start, not scoring a single point in the first quarter. Tom Brady uncharacteristically threw an interception in the red zone when the Patriots were knocking on the Seahawks door early in the first quarter. He eventually shook himself out of his funk by completing an 11-yard touchdown pass to Brandon LaFell on the Patriots next drive.

Russel Wilson had struggles of his own early on, after not completing a pass until there was just 5:00 minutes left in the first half. Luckily for the Seahawks, Marshawn Lynch didn’t have a slow start at all.
Lynch notched the first score of the game with a three yard rush up the middle for six points.
One of the most surprising performances of the game was the emergence of Seahawks wide receiver, Chris Matthews. After not catching any passes the entire season, the undrafted free agent caught a touchdown pass with two seconds to go in the first half. Matthews spent time in the CFL
At the begging of the second half, the Seahawks did not look like they were slowing down at all. Chris Matthews was targeted again by Wilson for a huge catch that led to a field goal.
After another Tom Brady interception by Bobby Wagner, the Seahawks scored on their fourth consecutive drive to go up 24-14. All hope for the Patriots seemed lost, but after a three and out to start the fourth quarter by the Seahawks, the Patriots had life again.

Tom Brady then drove the Patriots down the field on a nine play, 68-yard drive that ended in a 4-yard touchdown pass to Danny Amendola to come within a field goal of the Seahawks.
The Seahawks struggled to move the ball late in the fourth quarter punting again. The Patriots would capitalize again as Tom Brady completed his fourth touchdown pass of the game to Julian Edelman. In order to come a 4 point deficit, with only 2:02 second left in the game, the Seahawks would need some late game magic.
Russel Wilson would then take over. Wilson found Marshawn Lynch on a slant-and-go 31-yard catch to keep the Seahawks Super Bowl championship hopes alive. Jermaine Kearse came up with a ridiculous catch after the ball was tipped by Patriots corner back, Darius Butler.
However, Russel Wilson then threw an interception on the half-yard line and the Patriots took over with 2 seconds remaining. The Patriots would run out the remaining time and become Super Bowl champions, 28-24.
