The day has finally arrived for Super Bowl 49 and the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots play for the right to be called champions and some moms of members of the Seahawks have a special gameday message.

Pete Carroll will give a pregame speech before the Seahawks take the field for their Super Bowl matchup against the Patriots and he’ll get the reigning champions ready to play with some inspirational words, but he’s not alone in that.

Before the two kick off tonight some mothers of the Seahawks talked with For The Win to offer up some gameday inspiration to get their sons in the right frame of mind to have a stellar performance.

The mothers of Earl Thomas, Bruce Irvin, Richard Sherman, Derrick Coleman and Doug Baldwin shared their pregame messages for their sons and it was a pretty special moment.

Messages ranged from unconditional love and support to wishing for good health, but my favorite line came from Baldwin’s mom, Cindy Boling-Baldwin who ended her message with the reminder to “kick ass with class.”

How cool is that?! And totally something a mom would say.

We’re hours away from finding out if they’ll kick ass with class or if the Patriots are successful in stopping the Seahawks in their pursuit of back-to-back Super Bowl wins. The Patriots are the last team to repeat as Super Bowl champions so they’d love to keep that to themselves as well as winning the fourth ring under Bill Belichick and Tom Brady.

I don’t know what the mothers of the Patriots players had to say before the game, but I think it’s safe to assume it is something sweet, supportive and loving just like moms are famous for.

Heck, none of these guys fortunate enough to play in this game without their moms so whoever is on the victorious side tonight, make sure you thank your momma.
