The Super Bowl is this Sunday, but before we can get there it was up to Saturday Night Live to get the last laugh.
Richard Sherman and Marshawn Lynch are they dynamic duo who act as the face of the Seattle Seahawks. This opens them up to opportunities to represent their team in the public — even if Marshawn Lynch is reluctant to speak — but it also opens them up to trolling.

That was the case on Saturday Night Live this weekend, as the show used the Super Bowl to create what has to be the best cold open of the season so far.
Jay Pharaoh and Keenan Thompson, who act as SNL’s own dynamic duo, took on the roles of Marshawn Lynch and Richard Sherman to troll the Seahawks and the Super Bowl less than 24 hours before kickoff.
Last year the Super Bowl was in New York, but the cold open trolling the Broncos and Seahawks was pretty weak. This year more than made up for it when Pharaoh and Thompson rolled out as the Seahawks duo in a hilarious bit that killed it in every way.
The two highlights of the skit saw Pharoah’s Sherman troll Bill de Blasio for way over reacting during the great blizzard that ended up not rocking New York. Sherman exclaims that the only way you shutdown a city is by putting it in coverage against him.
Another highlight was when the dup addressed Deflategate by brining out a football with dreadlocks to display what a football should look like.
The bonus moment of the skit was when bandwagon Seahawks fans were trolled, as one fan notes she’s been a fan of the team since the beginning — of 2013.
This is what happens when SNL is firing on all cylinders, as the show is brilliant when it wants to be and lethal with the satire.
