SNL trolls bandwagon Seattle Seahawks fans (Video)

Saturday Night Live kicked off their pre-Super Bowl show by trolling bandwagon Seattle Seahawks fans.

The Super Bowl is tomorrow and as a result, scores of Seattle Seahawks fans are going to be making their way to Arizona to cheer on their team. But just how many of those fans are actual members of The 12th Man and aren’t just posers?

Saturday Night Live tried to get to the bottom of that by trolling the sh-t out of poser Seahawks who have only become fans of the team now that they’re at the top of the NFL. Just three years ago, the Seahawks were a cool story but weren’t the contenders they are now.

Two years later and they’re going for their second Super Bowl in as many years and all of a sudden everyone is a fan of the team. Saturday Night Live eviscerated the lame poser sect of The 12th Man in the most perfect way.

It’s not the first time that Seattle has been subject to a slew of posers hopping on the bandwagon. Back in the early 1990s, the grunge scene spurred by the rise of bands like Nirvana, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam caused a flannel phenomenon around the world as ripped acid wash jeans and your grandfather’s cardigan all of a sudden became really cool.

The success of the Seahawks is cool for actual fans, but it’s nice to know that SNL isn’t afraid to separate The 12th Man from those just pretending to rep the neon green.
