Which team won the Super Bowl XLIX coin toss on Sunday evening?

Super Bowl XLIX is about to begin, and the excitement is at an all-time high.

In case you haven’t seen the opening minutes, the Seattle Seahawks came out as winners of the pre-game coin toss. They were listed as the underdogs going into the game, despite being the defending champions, but they have one thing going for them.

The toss was done with a commemorative coin, Vince Lombardi was on one side and used as ā€˜heads,’ the stadium in Arizona was used for ā€˜tails.’ The Patriots were assigned as visitors so they got to call it — they chose wrong.

The Seahawks decided to kick so they would recieve for the second half. Coach Belichick is known to use the same tactics, and must be a little disappointed that his team will be surrendering possession to the Seahawks.

As we all know, recieving possession for the second half can kill the opposing team’s momentum if they had possession before the half. This looks like it could be an advantage for the Seahawks, but we will have to wait and see.
